{"id":43287,"date":"2015-06-06T13:36:57","date_gmt":"2015-06-06T11:36:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/comment-faire\/"},"modified":"2021-08-03T18:22:38","modified_gmt":"2021-08-03T16:22:38","slug":"comment-faire","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/en\/comment-faire\/","title":{"rendered":"Join us!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We heartily welcome new members, of all ages, of all nationalities, and of all levels and disciplines of cycling.\u00a0 Come and join us!<\/p>\n<p>We are not a competitive club \u2013 our members ride at their own pace, wherever and whenever they like, on roads or on mountain paths, alone or in groups.\u00a0 Some members climb less than ten passes in a year, others over a hundred.\u00a0 But we hope that, at least, you share our passion for the mountains, and welcome the challenge of climbing the mountain passes of the world.\u00a0 Remember our main Rule \u2013 to become a full Club member, you must have climbed at least 100 cols, of which at least 5 must be over 2000m high.<\/p>\n<p>The Club has unrivalled catalogues, freely available to all members, of the cols of the world \u2013 over 60,000 cols in more than 25 countries \u2013 and can offer a wealth of advice and support to help you plan your trips in some of the most beautiful mountainous regions on earth, the Alps, the Pyrenees, even the Rockies!<\/p>\n<h2>How to join ?<\/h2>\n<p>You share our passion for the mountains, you want to climb those cols!\u00a0 We\u2019re with you -it\u2019s our calling!<\/p>\n<h4>What stage are you at?<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">1\u00b0) <\/span>If you think you have already reached the 100 different col target, then there\u2019s nothing stopping you \u2013 apply for membership straightaway!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Attention: A pass can only be counted &#8220;once&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/en\/regle-du-jeu\/\">(rules of the game, article 1<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>You simply have to send in your application form, and your list of cols, if possible with their altitudes and where they are situated (eg French department, British county, Italian or Spanish province).\u00a0 We don\u2019t ask for proof of which cols you have climbed \u2013 your word is good enough.\u00a0 For further information on how to apply, follow this link \u2013 <a href=\"\/?page_id=55\">subscription form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">2\u00b0) <\/span>If you don\u2019t think you have yet quite reached the target, don\u2019t despair! \u00a0Persevere! \u00a0Help is at hand!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You can send us a pre-list of cols you have climbed, and we can help by checking your list to date, andby offering a wide range of support to achieve your membership.\u00a0 This support includes access to the Club\u2019s catalogues and to CCway, the Club\u2019s brilliant app for mapping cols; a partnership with Openrunner; access to the Club\u2019s long-distance trails, the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/categorie\/randonnees-permanentes\/\">Randonn\u00e9es Permanentes<\/a>\u201d; and help from our regional or national \u201cTerritorial Delegates\u201d. <span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/en\/contact\/\"><strong><u>contact<\/u><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">3\u00b0) You\u2019re not quite sure if all your cols are authorised by the Club?\u00a0 There are several ways to verify your list, and plan future trips<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Establish your list by using our catalogues<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Use our catalogues. Non-members have limited access to ccway, the Club\u2019s app. for showing cols on GPX systems or on Google Earth \u2013 a brilliant way of highlighting the best places for \u201ccol-bagging\u201d, and for planning your future routes. This works best if you have Google Earth downloaded on your computer \u2013 you\u2019ll be able to see all the cols in a certain region at a glance. To use CCWay, you will need to download Google Earth or other map applications (eg.
