the most beautiful of its kind &#8211; will allow you to admire \u2026. far<br>&#8211; from the Col du Glandon: Mont-Blanc, <br>&#8211; from the Col de la Croix de Fer: the Aiguilles d&#8217;Arves,<br>&#8211; from the Col du Galibier: the Massif des \u00c9crins and the Meije.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The BRA allows you to cross 8 passes (9 for the Super-BRA) including 4 passes over 2000 m<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"kt-adv-heading_2762cb-81 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading_2762cb-81\"><strong>Departures (BRA and BAC)\u00a0 and accommodation (BAC)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Since the 50<sup>th<\/sup> edition (2019) the <strong>departure takes place from Bourg d&#8217;Oisans<\/strong> (which avoids, as was the case with previous editions, the tedious ascent (at night) of the Romanche valley from Vizille to Rochetaill\u00e9 (and its descent on the way back\u00a0!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>BAC<\/strong>: departure on Saturday from 7am to 10am<br>Accommodation\u00a0 in Saint Michel de Maurienne, Valmenier or Valloire\u00a0 (urgent online booking &#8230;)BAC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>BRA\u00a0<\/strong>: departures on Sundays at 4am, 5am and 6am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"kt-adv-heading_117c51-a8 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading_117c51-a8\"><strong>The traditional route\u00a0: BRA and BAC<\/strong><br>174 km and 4,280 m of D+ &#8211; Option 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Departure from <strong>Bourg d&#8217;Oisans<\/strong>, voie verte left bank of the Romanche\u00a0 to <strong>Rochetaill\u00e9 <\/strong>(lieudit Pont Rouge), then up the <strong>Vall\u00e9e de l&#8217;eau d&#8217;Olle<\/strong>, via Allemond, the Barrage du Verney, the Rivier d&#8217;Allemond, crossing the Eau d&#8217;Olle, after a short descent, and a fairly steep ascent (11% for the first kilometre) <em>&#8211; (the old road swept away in April 1989 by the Pic Brunard landslide is still visible on the right bank) &#8211; <\/em>then to the right the Grandmaison dam and lake,\u00a0 at c\u00f4te 1907 (2.7 km from the Col de la Croix de Fer, the crossroads to the <strong>Col du Glandon<\/strong> <strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1924\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1924<\/a>)<\/strong> at 250 m &#8211; pass hunters won&#8217;t want to miss the diversions and take the opportunity to admire Mont Blanc\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Checkpoint at <strong>Col de la Croix de Fer<\/strong> <strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-2064a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-2064a<\/a>) <\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; facing the Aiguilles d&#8217;Arves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Then down through Saint Sorlin d&#8217;Arves, up to the <strong>Col du Mollard<\/strong> <strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1638\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1638<\/a>)<\/strong>, descent to the Maurienne via Albiez le Jeune and Villargondran (and the 48 lacets)\u00a0; up the Arc valley via Saint-Julien Mondenis to <strong>Saint Michel de Maurienne.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Ascent of <strong>Col du T\u00e9l\u00e9graphe<\/strong> <strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1566\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1566<\/a>)<\/strong>, on the short descent to Valloire, passing <strong>Le Col\u00a0 \u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1522\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1522<\/a>)<\/strong>, then attack the main section\u00a0: Les Verneys, Plan Lachat, to the right of the road Le <strong>Collet du Plan Nicolas\u00a0 (<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-2406\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-2406<\/a>) <\/strong>and &#8230; Option 2 in red on the map below<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">On the way back, at km 162, in <strong>Freney d&#8217;Oisans<\/strong>, the climb towards the <strong>Auris<\/strong> resort, up to Cerf d&#8217;Auris (1343 m), will allow you to return via the <strong>Belv\u00e9d\u00e8re de l&#8217;Armentier<\/strong> and admire the plunging view over the valley\u00a0of the Romanche 600 m below\u00a0!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"kt-adv-heading_4087bd-e2 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading_4087bd-e2\"><strong>Super BRA and Super-BAC<\/strong><br>197 km and 5,200 m of D+ &#8211; Option 3 in green on the map<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">From the <strong>barrage du Chambon<\/strong>, head for Mizo\u00ebn and Clavans via the Ferrand valley to reach the <strong>Col de Sarenne (<a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/backup\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-38-1999\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-38-1999<\/a>) <\/strong><em>(alas after much research we had to admit &#8230;. that we were a metre short of the 2,000 m mark)<\/em>then on to Bourg d&#8217;Oisans via Alpe d&#8217;Huez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"kt-adv-heading_ca3553-c4 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading_ca3553-c4\"><strong>Super BRA+ and Super BAC +<\/strong><br>209 km and 5,252 m of D+ &#8211;
