Their number is limited to a total 6 photos per col.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">A file by country or French department can be sent on request. With this file, you\u2019ll be able to check visually if the cols are documented or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">All the photos are welcome. But, taking into account the restrictions as explained above, any photo with a lower quality (low-light conditions, road signs difficult to read, or bad weather conditons, etc) could be replaced <strong>by the member responsible for the publication online.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">The photos or any requests should be sent to the following address\u00a0:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a style=\"font-size: 20px;\" href=\"mailto:photos@centcols.net\"><strong>photos@centcols.net<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 24px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">General criteria<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">The size of the photos should be 800X600, JPEG format and not more than 1 MO. You\u2019ll find free and easy-to-use tools to re-size your photos, like <b>bulkresizephotos.com<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">For each photo, indicate the code, name of the col and what it represents, as for example\u00a0: FR-04-1242a Col de Charamel \u2013 col sign.jpg<\/span>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">or,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">FR-04-1242a Col de Charamel \u2013 East view from the col.jpg<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px;\">Particular critieria\u00a0:<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">The photos of the col signs showing a justification for the col validation must be perfectly readable<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">The photos of the directional road signs \u2013 very useful signs as they point to a preferred route which is very often marked \u2013 must show the name of the location of the road sign to make it possible to locate its place on a map for the preparation of the itinerary<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">The legend of the photo must be short and explicit, as for example\u00a0:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">\u2018South view of the col\u2019 ( or access to col\u2013 or col in the distance from south side)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">\u2018departure of trail from X path\u2019 (or any element on the access conditions, often necessary for mule tracks\u00a0: difficult trail conditions, scree final access on north side, \u2026)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">\u2018the col\u2019 (photo of the col)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">\u2018South view from the col\u2019 (or the valley, or a precise place on the map)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">\u2018Cross at the col\u2019 (or any element on culture, history or tourist interest\u2026)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">If possible, think of indicating, with an arrow or short text, the position of the concerned col on the photo of a mountain ridge (See the examples\u00a0: <i>FR-04-2222\u00a0 and FR-04-2680<\/i>).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px;\">The photos should be neutral\u00a0: the important point is to privilege the landscape.
