Founded by the lords of Vog\u00fce in the12 th century, it quickly developed around the castle. This is one of the village&#8217;s historic jewels, rebuilt in the 17th century, and is open to the public, with several exhibition rooms. A short distance from the castle is Sainte Marie&#8217;s church, built on the site of a Bendictine abbey. It was completely rebuilt in 1691, after the wars of religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking along its narrow lanes, one can&#8217;t fail to notice its stone houses, typical of the area. Some of the houses date from the 17 th century. Until 1940, stonemasons dug the blue stone of Vog\u00fce. They lived in the rue des balcons where the stone stairs are witness to their craftmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the village lives mainly by tourism thanks to its three labels : Plus beau village de France, Village de caract\u00e8re and the Via Ard\u00e8che.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Domaine Lou Capitelle, you can go in search of the marvels of the C\u00e9vennes ard\u00e9choises, the massif du Tanargue, the plateau du M\u00e9zenc or the Gerbier de Jonc. You will find the Ard\u00e8che gorge, the famous Pont d&#8217;Arc, the Chauvet grotto, the villages of Joyeuse, Largenti\u00e8re and the castles of Montr\u00e9al, and of Joannas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will taste criques, caillettes, the maoche and the many specialities based on the chestnut, another emblem of this beautiful country. You&#8217;ll finish your meal with a picodon, washed down with syrah or viognier, followed by a macaron de Joyeuse, a speciality of the town since 1851.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last but not least, there will there and all our members can enjoy it, not only those who have taken full board. You&#8217;ll stay in 18m2 rooms with twin single bed sand seperate bathrooms. Single rooms are available. Bed linen and towels will be provided, and will be changed once during the stay. Meals (breakfast and dinner) will be taken in a panoramic restaurant with a unique view over the village of Vog\u00fce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll also have free access to an interior swimming pool with whirlpool bath, massage jets, jacuzzi.
