Damals war er bei den Cyclos de la Vall\u00e9e de Th\u00f6nes. In den letzten Jahrzehnten hatte er sich neben seinem Beruf als Kunstlehrer auf neue Abenteuer begeben: von 2001 bis 2020 war er B\u00fcrgermeister seiner Gemeinde La Chapelle in Maurienne und von 2011 bis 2015 Generalrat des Kantons La Chambre.
