Alt: 700 m<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Touristische Beschreibung<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Sierra Nevada (spanisch f\u00fcr \u201cschneebedeckte Bergkette\u201d) ist ein in Ost-West-Richtung verlaufendes Gebirgsmassiv. Sie entstand zusammen mit den Alpen beim Zusammensto\u00df der Afrikanischen und Eurasischen Platte.  Pico del Veleta ( 3396 m ) ist der dritth\u00f6chste Berg Spaniens und befindet sich am westlichen Ende des Gebirges, oberhalb der Stadt Granada. Die \"h\u00f6chste Stra\u00dfe Europas\" (der Titel ist umk\u00e4mpft!) klettert praktisch bis zum Gipfel.
