General description
This route takes you around the crest of the Kaiserstuhl (Emperor’s Chair). This small massif near the Rhine is an ancient volcano dating from the primary era. Covered in vines, its vintages are renowned;
The route is enhanced by numerous views to the west over the neighbouring Vosges mountains, the hillsides of Alsace, the Rhine valley and the Forêt Noire massif to the east.

Technical description
This route is not difficult. Approximately 50% of the route is on good, rolling tracks and the rest on tarmac roads.
Access to the first pass, Eck DE-BW-0420a, requires a short push.
As with most routes in the Black Forest, there are often some fairly steep slopes to contend with.
