Presentation of the area
After 2012 and 2017, it’s once more that the Haute Savoie welcomes us for the autumn séjour of the Club des Cent Cols. We’ll be staying in a Cap France centre, ‘les Balcons du Lac’ located above the village of Sevrier and overlooking the Lac d’Annecy.
2022 is a special year as our Club celebrates 50 years.
Fifty years of passion, fifty years of friendship.
On the heights above the lake with the purest waters in Europe, this holiday village is an ideal starting point to discover the Haute-Savoie. Between the lake amnd the mountains, the historic centre of Annecy invites exploration and discovery. With its cobbled streets, multicoloured houses and iconic buildings, the Venice of the Alps has a rich heritage. Along the canals of Annecy, lined by elegant seventeenth century residences, you can immerse yourself in the riches of the past.
The lake itself offers a rich natural store of flora and fauna. On the Roc de Chere, a promontary over the lake, an easy walk will reveal many species of trees.
A half hours drive will take you to the unique panorama of Semnoz, with a 360 degree view over the northern Alps and the Jura. A half day excursion will show the typical small villages and local craftsmanship of the region, and of course there is the ‘tome des Bauges’ cheese. On the shores of lac d’Annecy there is a cycle path of 40km through the hamlets and along the beaches of the area.
The Programme
Saturday
A tour of the Paccard Museum from 09.00 to 11.00.
Founded in 1796, the Paccard Foundry is a part of Savoie’s industrial heritage.
The Paccard family will reveal to you the secrets of their ancestral knowledge! Enter into a world of bell-founders, the forging of molten metal, and the techniques of metalworking from antiquity to the present day. There will be a guided tour of the foundry’s workshops, and the viewing of a short film on one of the world records that belong to the family, as well as a demonstration of electronic bell ringing.
The festive dinner will be followed by a musical evening with two members of the group Odysée.
Sunday
Tour of the lac d’Annecy on the cycle path.
