{"id":80218,"date":"2025-04-02T16:26:32","date_gmt":"2025-04-02T14:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centcols.org\/?p=80218"},"modified":"2025-09-01T16:25:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T14:25:16","slug":"the-loops-of-the-massif-central","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/centcols.org\/en\/les-boucles-du-massif-central\/","title":{"rendered":"The loops of the Massif Central"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Presentation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 1,538km route covering several d\u00e9partements, with 14 loops, 109 passes and around 2,965 metres of ascent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This 100 Cols route in the Massif Central was mapped out by Jean-Marc Cl\u00e9ment of the Confr\u00e9rie des Cent Cols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/rando_perm\/carto\/mbtrp.php?rp=mfc\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/centcols.org\/en\/rando_perm\/inscription.php\/?rando=mfc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Registration form<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Theme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Club des Cent Cols, founded in 1972, is affiliated to the <a href=\"http:\/\/ffct.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French Cycling Federation<\/a> under No. 6384, offers you this permanent walk based on a simple theme: \u00abOne hundred passes\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One hundred passes, either to enable you to join the Confr\u00e9rie des Cent Cols, or to enable you to progress up the Confr\u00e9rie's \"roll of honour\", or in any case to help you discover or rediscover the Massif Central, so rich in natural and historic sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Controls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fourteen controls are compulsory; they will be carried out at points along the route chosen by the rider, with one control being carried out in each loop (loop numbers are to be found on the route map).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The loops are as follows and depart from :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pontgibaud: 90 km, 7 passes, D+: 1110 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orcival: 90.5 km, 7 passes, D+: 1915 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cournon d'Auvergne: 121 km, 6 cols, D+: 2150 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thiers: 102 km, 7cols, D+: 1920 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chalmazel: 98.5 km, 12 passes, D+: 2075 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ambert 1: 114 km, 5 passes, D+: 2295 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ambert 2: 103.5 km, 8 passes, D+: 2000 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Langeac: 118.5 km;
