Height: 700 m<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tourist information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sierra Nevada (Spanish for snow-capped mountain range) is an east-west mountain range. It was formed at the same time as the Alps when the African and Eurasian plates collided.  Pico del Veleta ( 3396 m ) is Spain's third highest peak and is located at the western end of the range, above the city of Granada. The \"highest road in Europe\" (the title is disputed!) climbs almost all the way to the summit.
