It is with great sadness that I have just learned of the death of Yves Bochent. He joined the club in 2007 and left in 2022. He was always devoted, always on the ball and always ready to help, as he did during our RP in the Black Forest, where he was our driver and refueller throughout the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our thoughts are with his wife Malou and his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was very moved to hear the news, because our Swiss Breton was a very special person to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I'll never forget him, because he was someone who left a lasting impression on me, with his mischievous but endearing side that you could always count on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was news that upset me too. I met Yves in 2011 when I was touring France as closely as possible to the coast and borders. Knowing that I'd planned a foray into Switzerland to get as close as possible to the borders, Yves Breton from Switzerland, who didn't know me personally, contacted me via the comments on my travel blog. I was going to be passing very close to his home and he invited me to stop off there. I received a royal welcome from Malou and Yves. One of the best memories of this trip. They pulled out all the stops and it was a great pleasure to meet them.<\/p>\n\n\n

Yves hated riding in the rain. But that didn't stop him from accompanying me the next morning to Saint-Gingolph for my final stage. He rode more than forty kilometres in the pouring rain just to share a moment of friendship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yves <\/strong>was a colourful character whose presence brightened every moment. His vitality and dynamism were infectious. Generous of heart and spirit, he knew how to offer his time, his smile and his kindness to those around him.
