In die tijd was hij lid van de Cyclos de la Vall\u00e9e de Th\u00f6nes. In de afgelopen decennia was hij, naast zijn baan als kunstleraar, nieuwe avonturen begonnen, als burgemeester van zijn woonplaats La Chapelle, in de regio Maurienne, van 2001 tot 2020, en algemeen raadslid voor het kanton La Chambre, van 2011 tot 2015.
