Hubert Marin overleed een paar dagen voor Kerstmis, in zijn 88e jaar. Hij en zijn vrouw Anne-Marie verlieten de club enkele jaren geleden, maar maakten zelf nog enkele uitstapjes op VAE.
Als voormalig fabrieksarbeider in Ugine was hij al 37 jaar met pensioen... en daar hebben we het beste van gemaakt! Hubert had een enorme bijdrage geleverd aan de club, in elke zin van het woord. Hij was al tientallen jaren vrijwilliger en was meer dan tien jaar onze penningmeester, tot 1992. Na twee jaar vice-voorzitter te zijn geweest, keerde hij terug naar zijn geliefde boekhouding en kledingvoorraad en werd hij plaatsvervangend penningmeester van 1995 tot 2008. Dertig jaar op het kantoor van de club: een grote inzet!<\/p>\n\n\n

Maar Hubert was ook een uitzonderlijke, hardwerkende fietser. In 1979 werd hij uitgeroepen tot \u00abbeste fietser\u00bb van het jaar (in een tijd waarin we rigoureus punten telden voor uitstapjes naar externe clubs!) Maar Hubert had een nog uitzonderlijkere drijvende kracht: zijn vrouw, Anne-Marie. Ze waren samen op de club, samen in de schatkist, samen om onze outfits te beheren. En samen om pasjes te geven. Ze werden lid van de Cent Cols club in 1982 (hij met het nr. 1699, zij met het nr. 1700), en gingen samen aan de slag. Zodra ze met pensioen gingen, beklommen ze het klassement en profiteerden ze van hun nieuwe vrije tijd om de bergketens van Frankrijk en daarbuiten af te struinen. Niemand weet hoe, maar Anne-Marie nam een kleine voorsprong op Hubert voor hun duizendste col, een voorsprong die ze vasthield tot het einde! Ze hadden al 2000 passen voor de federale week van 1997, wat ons bezig hield. De 3.000e was in 2002, de 4.000e in 2006 en de 5.000e in 2014, op 76-jarige leeftijd... Hubert mopperde soms, maar we moesten bijblijven, in de hoop te kunnen uitrusten in zijn huis in Venthon, met een tuin en appelbomen om te verzorgen...
De club biedt Anne-Marie, hun dochters Sylvie en Corinne en hun kleinkinderen haar oprechte deelneming aan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
