Je emigreerde uit de regio Parijs en vestigde je in Labenne, een klein stadje op de grens tussen de Landes en Baskenland. Na de hellingen van de Montagne de Reims, kon je je volop uitleven op je trotse ros in de heuvels van Chalossaise, en dan de beroemde PAS DE BAS, vlak bij je huis!
Ik kan me niet herinneren wanneer we elkaar voor het eerst ontmoetten op de fiets, allebei lid van de Club des Cent Cols. Jij beklom vrolijk de steilste hellingen van het Baskenland, maar wachtte geduldig op mij en zei: \u00abHet moeilijkste stuk hebben we achter de rug!\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2015 hielp je me met veel plezier bij het organiseren van een kleine bijeenkomst in St Etienne de Baigorry, waar 35 van onze Cent Cols-genoten konden proeven van de geneugten van de Baskische bergen. Op dat moment droeg je je helm en sokken in de groene, witte en rode kleuren: je was de ziel van het peloton, die hier en daar je advies over deze of gene route distilleerde, terwijl je er ook nog wat smakelijke anekdotes aan toevoegde!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016 nam je me mee van St Jean de Luz naar je zeer, zeer steile paradijs net boven Irun: ERLAIZKO LEPOA, OTZARTEKO LEPOA, ELURRETXEKO LEPOA... je wielen \u2019zongen\u00ab EUSKARA! Opnieuw toonde je me veel vriendschap en geduld terwijl ik die steile hellingen te voet afwerkte. De terugweg langs de kustweg verliep vrij snel en we ontmoetten elkaar weer voor de lunch. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ontmoeting in 2017 op de Col de Rill\u00e9, waar je een bekwaam mecanicien werd en me twee keer hielp mijn binnenband te verwisselen, zodat we net op tijd aankwamen voor de ontmoeting met Alain Gillodes, Chantal Sala en vele andere metgezellen!<\/p>\n\n\n

Je was een elegante klimmer, soms ontmoedigd door je laatste blunder (zoals je schoenen vergeten op de Cinq Terres bijeenkomst) .... In die tijd had je je favoriete groepje, bekend als de \u00abbucoliques\u00bb! die je die dag aan de kust van de Golf van Genua achterlieten. <\/p>\n\n\n

2 of 3 jaar lang stuurde je me \u00abmoppen\u00bb op WhatsApp, waaronder een van Nicole Ferroni die je leuk vond... We schreven elkaar weer op 17 januari 2026...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Pierre zal je zonder problemen binnenlaten omdat je trots zult zijn op het dragen van deze blauwe trui, die al zoveel steile weggetjes heeft gezien en een veilige doorgang vormt naar het paradijs voor herenfietsers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
