De Col du Vallon of Col des Tufs (2525m, FR-73-2530<\/a>, IGN Topo 53 3434-O 048-035) is een prachtig muilezelpad dat ten zuidwesten van de Col de la Croix de Fer (FR-73-2064a<\/a>) in de richting van de Pic de l'\u00c9tendard. Het biedt een prachtig uitzicht op het massief van Sept-Laux in het westen en, voorbij de pas, de prachtige Aiguilles d'Arves in het oosten.<\/p>\n\n\n

Vanaf de Col du Vallon brengt een lus van slechts 5 km je over twee andere passen op meer dan 2000 meter, terwijl je langs de oevers van twee meren loopt die worden gevoed door de smeltende gletsjer Saint-Sorlin.
Verlaat Saint-Sorlin d'Arves en beklim de weg naar de Col de la Croix de Fer op 2064m. Sla op de top linksaf een breed pad in dat bijna vlak langs de zijkant van de berg loopt (R1).

Om 2069 begint de echte klim: 3 km aan een gemiddelde van 15,4%. Het pad is in goede staat, breed en glooiend, maar de helling is erg steil en je moet vaak lopen. Op de top is in het zuiden de Pic de l'\u00c9tendard (3464m) te zien, omringd door glinsterende gletsjers. Daal af (R1) voor ongeveer 300m en sla linksaf naar een smal pad (S2) dat leidt naar de Col Nord des Lacs (2533m). FR-73-2533a<\/a>) in de buurt. Het uitzicht in het oosten is magnifiek, terwijl beneden in het westen het diepblauwe Grand Lac ligt.<\/p>\n\n\n

Ontmoeting op de top! Op de achtergrond: de Saint-Sorlin gletsjer onder de Pic de l'\u00c9tendard. Achter de muilezel zie je het begin van het S2-pad dat naar de Col Sud des Lacs leidt. Hieronder, het Grand Lac en het pad dat langs de westelijke rand loopt.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Daal het pad (S2) af dat langs de zijkant van de berg boven het oostelijke meer loopt. Sla aan het einde van het pad linksaf om gemakkelijk de Col Sud des Lacs (2476m) te bereiken. FR-73-2476b<\/a>). Ga een beetje terug in de tijd, steek de dam over bij Lac Blanc en volg het R1-pad langs de westelijke oever van het Grand Lac.<\/p>\n\n\n

Je komt aan bij de \u00c9tendard refuge, waar je een drankje en een maaltijd kunt bestellen. Een korte klim (R1) brengt je terug naar de Col du Vallon. De terugkeer naar de Col de la Croix de Fer is gemakkelijk op de fiets (R1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vier passen boven de 2000 meter in 17 km, met een prachtig landschap. De Col du Vallon is de omwegen meer dan waard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
