class=\"wp-block-heading\">Toponymie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab Cucheron \u00bb signifie \u00ab butte \u00bb ou \u00ab colline \u00bb.<br>Dans le catalogue des cols de France on trouve deux cols du Cucheron :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>celui objet de cet article : col du Cucheron, en Is\u00e8re (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-38-1139\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-38-1139<\/a>) sur la D512<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Et \u00e9galement dans le massif de Chartreuse le col du Cucheron (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1215\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1215<\/a>) situ\u00e9 sur une piste R1, au sud du col de la Cluse (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1169\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1169<\/a>), \u00e0 droite de la D45 allant de Saint-Pierre-d\u2019Entremont (par Corbel) au D\u00e9sert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et deux cols, situ\u00e9s dans le massif de Belledonne (cha\u00eene des Hurti\u00e8res), contiennent \u00e9galement le terme Cucheron :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>le col du Grand Cucheron (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1188\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1188<\/a>), col routier (D\u00a0207) tout au nord de la cha\u00eene (ce col a \u00e9t\u00e9 emprunt\u00e9 par le parcours du super BRA de 1977 \u00e0 2003, quand le BRA partait de Grenoble)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>et<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>le col du Petit Cucheron (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1228<\/a>) au nord du Grand Cucheron accessible depuis celui-ci par une piste (R1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Situation g\u00e9ographique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Massif<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est le col central de la d\u00e9pression nord-sud qui traverse le massif de Chartreuse (avec les 3 cols : Granier (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-73-1134\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-73-1134<\/a>), Cucheron (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-38-1139\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-38-1139<\/a>) et Porte (<a href=\"\/util\/geo\/visu.php?code=FR-38-1326b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FR-38-1326b<\/a>)).<br>Il se situe entre le Grand Som \u00e0 l&rsquo;ouest et la Scia au sud-est.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les deux images issues du site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geol-alp.com\/chartreuse\/6_sites_ch\/col_cucheron.html\" target=\"_blank\" est un affluent de l\u2019Herb\u00e9tan qui se jette dans Guiers Vif \u00e0 Saint-Pierre-d\u2019Entremont.<br>Au sud, le Couzon, affluent du Guiers Mort (confluent \u00e0 la Diat en dessous de Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse).<br>Le Guiers Mort et le Guiers Vif convergent \u00e0 Entre-deux-Guiers pour former le Guiers qui se jette dans le Rh\u00f4ne en aval de Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers (Savoie).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Acc\u00e8s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 40%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>La D512 traverse le col du Cucheron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au sud 4,5km depuis le carrefour de la Diat (altitude 794m) par Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse.<br>Au nord depuis Saint-Pierre-d\u2019Entremont (alt 639\u00a0m), 8,3\u00a0km par la D512 ou variante par Le Villard (D102b), 7,4\u00a0km. Les 2 routes se rejoignent au Planolet.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"440\" height=\"461\" administrative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le col du Cucheron est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 la limite des communes de Saint-Pierre-d\u2019Entremont au nord et Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse au sud.<br>Saint-Pierre-d&rsquo;Entremont est un village de France partag\u00e9 entre deux communes homonymes :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Saint-Pierre-d&rsquo;Entremont en Is\u00e8re<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Saint-Pierre-d&rsquo;Entremont en Savoie<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Le Guiers Vif qui traverse le village et sur lequel s&rsquo;appuie la limite d\u00e9partementale actuelle constitue l&rsquo;ancienne fronti\u00e8re entre le duch\u00e9 de Savoie du royaume de Sardaigne et la province du Dauphin\u00e9 de la Couronne de France.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00c0 voir &#8211; tourisme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Versant sud<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Se reporter au paragraphe \u00ab\u00a0Versant nord\u00a0\u00bb de l\u2019article \u00ab <a href=\"\/col-de-porte\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Col de Porte<\/a> \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Versant nord<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Au nord du col, la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grenoble-tourisme.com\/fr\/catalogue\/detail\/station-le-planolet-86113\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">station familiale de ski du Planolet<\/a> est situ\u00e9e imm\u00e9diatement sous le col (village du Planolet \u00e0 moins de 1\u00a0km).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cyclisme et cyclotourisme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brevet de Randonneur de Chartreuse (BRC)<\/strong> : se reporter \u00e0 l\u2019article \u00ab <a href=\"\/col-de-porte\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Col de Porte<\/a> \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Profil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Versant sud, depuis la Diat<\/strong> (altitude 794\u00a0m), la mont\u00e9e par Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse ne pr\u00e9sente un replat \u00e0 mi-parcours (avant Saint-Philibert) et un dernier kilom\u00e8tre plut\u00f4t soutenu.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full
