We gingen naar dezelfde plaatselijke school. In de zomer zagen we de Engelse karavaan voorbij trekken en stelden we ons reizen naar verre landen voor, onze geest gevoed door onze lectuur...<br>Yves is onder ons aanwezig in twee essenti\u00eble gebaren van het leven: drinken en eten. Meer dan 40 jaar lang maakte hij de mallen voor de ovens van de kristalfabriek Arques: Arcoroc, Arcopal, Arques-kristal, glazen, borden en schalen. Hij was een hooggekwalificeerde en bekwame draaier, molenaar en monteur, met maar \u00e9\u00e9n eis: uiterste precisie.<br>Hij had een passie voor lezen: hij verslond duizenden boeken. Hij kon je hele hoofdstukken vertellen. Als tiener was hij een specialist in Hubert, de strijder achter OSS 117. Hij vertelde de grappigste sc\u00e8nes met plezier, uit zijn hoofd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>De fietser :<br>Zeer methodisch bereidde hij zijn routes voor op kaarten, waarbij hij de passen noteerde. Hij noteerde de opmerkelijke plaatsen. De afgelegde route, de afstand in mijlen, de duur, de datum, de weersomstandigheden en andere opmerkingen noteerde hij in zijn notitieboekjes.<br>In zijn tas zat de kaart van de sector met zijn boterhammen, de banaan, de appel en wat kleingeld voor een Perrier of een witte limonade...<br>Geen GPS, maar een pagina met een opeenvolging van knooppunten en aanwijzingen om te volgen.<br>Kettingspanner, bandenpechset, doek...<br>Hij introduceerde me bij de Cents Cols club.<br>Toen we samenkwamen voor een \u00abklein onderhoudsuitstapje\u00bb, zorgden we op dagen dat het slecht weer was voor sensatie toen we \u00abons\u00bb caf\u00e9-PMU binnenliepen.
