FR-30 Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort – Route 95 km, elevation gain 1,820 m, 13 mountain passes

Departure : Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort, in the town centre, from the Pradet car park next to the sports hall, just after the Collège de la Galaberte.

Tourist information

This route winds through the lower reaches of the Aigoual massif, amidst landscapes of scrubland and Cévennes forests. This area is sparsely populated, and you will pass through tiny villages.

Technical specifications

The route is entirely by road (100 %). Halfway along the route, Lasalle is a small town with shops, and there is a water point next to Saint-Pierre Church. Alternatively, there are water points in Colognac, or in Saint-Roman-de-Codières just before the church.
In Lasalle, the Col du Lièvre is steep for 600 metres; there is the option of adding the Col de l’Oursine FR-30-0423 with a 4 km round trip.
After Sumène, the Col du Lac has an gradient of around 10 % over 3 km; there is the option of adding the Cap de Coste FR-30-0359 with a 4 km round trip.
