These are incentives to travel, proposed by a member of the Club des Cent Cols on a particular and different theme for each challenge.
They are open to all, whether or not they are members of the Club des Cent Cols, and are an excellent way of joining the Club...
The creation of the Club des Cent Cols challenges had several objectives, largely determined by listening to the members of the Confrérie des Cent Cols, by observing the particular or original practices of certain cyclotourists and finally by the precepts of cyclotourism.
Article 1: An official challenge of the Club des Cent Cols is an incentive offered by a member of the Club des Cent Cols to climb the passes on a list drawn up by the member according to his or her own criteria, to members or non-members of the Club des Cent Cols.
The collar is the main object and the only thing the challenges have in common, while the theme is left to the discretion of the challenge creator.
These specific rules for challenges include the general provisions of the RDJ of the Club des Cent Cols particularly with regard to the official recognition of mountain passes (article 2), which will be climbed by muscle power alone (comments on article 1).
Article 2: Any challenge must first be approved by the Board of Directors of the Club des Cent Cols in order to be an official Club challenge.
A page on the Club's website (http://centcols.org/) will be dedicated to official challenges. It will contain general information about the challenges, some specific information about each challenge and links to the challenge creator.
Article 3: The creator sets the framework for his own challenge as he sees fit.
At the request of a potential participant, the person in charge of the challenge will provide the registration form, the framework of the challenge and the definitive list of passes included in the challenge. He will keep a record of the passes climbed by each participant. At the beginning of the year, the person in charge will inform the Club des Cent Cols of the number of participants in his or her challenge, with a view to publication in the Club des Cent Cols' annual review.
