Departure : Bédoin, Place de la République on the main street. Numerous car parks adjacent to the main street, including the one on Place de la Vigneronne near the post office.
Tourist information
A very popular tourist route starting at the foot of Mont Ventoux and passing through the hilltop villages of Crillon-le-Brave, Caromb (Romanesque church, Italian Baroque organ), Le Barroux (imposing castle, abbey), La Roque-Alric (nestled against a rock face that obscures the Dentelles de Montmirail). This is where the stunning views of the Dentelles de Montmirail massif begin. The village of Suzette’s commanding position offers a 360° panorama, notably of Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. You pass close to Malaucène for the first time on your way to the Toulourenc Gorges (a Natura 2000 site), then on the return journey, after passing Malaucène, you cycle through the beautiful pine forest around the Col de la Madeleine.
Technical specifications
The route is entirely on roads. There are a few short sections with a gradient of 8–10 % at times.
Shops, bicycle shops, toilets and water points in Bédoin. Water tap at the Col de Suzette. Shops in Entrechaux, and water point just to the left of the town hall. Shops and bicycle shops in Malaucène.
Caution: mass tourism and high temperatures in summer.
