The FFCT's development in Corsica, which has been almost confidential, has never been significant, and the number of affiliated clubs has always been counted on the fingers of one hand.

Numerous trips have been organised by the FFCT Tourism Commission and by the various continental Codeps, but the seed has not been sown.

Even two stages of the FFCT Tour Cyclo did not generate any new entries.

In contrast to this rather gloomy picture, the number of people taking part in cycling holidays is still at a record high, particularly for Coreg Corse's touring and star-organised tours. You might say that this is normal, as all organisers work hard to help people discover and appreciate their region.

A land of contrasts, a veritable mountain in the sea, baptized "Kallisté" the most beautiful by the Greeks, Corsica captivates visitors with the splendour of its wild and varied landscapes. Touring cyclists will appreciate the charms of the island of beauty, with "mare y monti" routes that take in the back roads of deepest Corsica, with stops in Propriano, Porto-Vecchio, Corte, Piedicroce, Saint Florent, Cap Corse, Algajola, Porto and Ajaccio.

The inexhaustible charms of Corsica have prompted one keen cyclist to take part in his twenty-third Tour de Corse! The tour includes maritime escapades, with visits to the Bonifacio sea caves, the Lavezzi islands and the Scandola nature reserve.

Non-pedallants are provided with hire vehicles and play a full part in the friendly atmosphere. The main asset of the Coreg Corse organisations is Corsica with Corsicans. One year, for example, 7 bicycles were stolen from the garage of the Hôtel de la 2^th stage; the tour continued with vehicle hire for the victims until the 4^th At this stage, 7 carbon bikes with pedals to match their shoes were waiting for them, hired from a bike shop in Bastia and transported to Zicavo by a friend from Ajaccio!

Tour de Corse and Tour de Force...! After several months of legal battles, Coreg won out over the hotel's insurance company and obtained full compensation for the victims of the theft.

A fundamental rule of the FFCT is always applied: we leave together and we arrive together.
