Club ami" agreement with Amicale des Cyclos Cardiaques
At the original request of André Liotier, a member of the Club des Cent Cols and the Amicale des cyclos cardiaques, Bernard Giraudeau proposed to the members of the club's Board of Directors that the following be signed an " CLUB AMI" of the Amicale des cyclos cardiaques.
ACC Chairman Joël Grandjean received the agreement, which was signed on 18 February. The agreement will be officially published in the "Cœur et Vélo" newsletter, issue no. 155, in June 2023.
We’ve got our hands on a preview copy of the publication:

Why did you sign an agreement with the ACC?
When we talk about "muscular strength" as cyclists, we immediately think of the action of the calf muscles (wrongly) and the thigh and buttock muscles (rightly), but never that of the heart muscle. And yet the activity of this muscle is phenomenal and indispensable, but it remains the target of many disabling pathologies.
Finding themselves on the ground after a collision or a riding error will most of the time leave cyclists with some temporary moral, physical and aesthetic after-effects. This can be seen in Accidents in Haute-Savoieprovided by Codep74.
Just like a fall from a bicycle or mountain bike, heart failure or a heart attack very often comes on without warning. But with heart disease, the after-effects are not temporary: once it has set in, the condition requires constant attention and often becomes a source of anxiety.
The ACC is well aware of this, which is why it offers its assistance and expertise to members of its «partner» club:
At the request of the President of the Club Ami, the Amicale des Cyclos Cardiaques can contact a member of the Club des Cent Cols who has suffered a heart problem, to help them regain their confidence by demonstrating the benefits of cycling for cardiovascular health.
The ACC also publishes a quarterly newsletter packed with medical documentation and personal experiences.
Every quarter, we invite you to read the "Cœur et vélo" newsletter.
