Veloenfrance features at a glance

VeloenfranceThis is an FFCT website => https://veloenfrance.fr/

It has recently undergone significant development and now offers a wealth of information and features for cyclists and hikers. The Club des Cent Cols is a partner of the FFCT and helps to improve the quality of veloenfrance.

1 - The members of the Club des Cent Cols are naturally drawn to towards the passes.  In veloenfrance, you can find out the position of more than 12,000 road or mule cycle passes at 100 % located in 10 European countries.

There are two ways of doing this:

  • Click on "Challenges" in the banner, then on "Les Cent Cols" to access the map of the passes.
  • Or click on "Discover" at the bottom of the home page

By zooming in on the map, each pass becomes individualised and you can find out all about it by clicking on "More info".

2 – The Club des Cent Cols permanent hikes are also present in Veloenfrance

Some have a linear route, others are in the form of a single loop and others have several separate loops. This is why there are 24 permanent walks but 68 starting points.

Click on "Circuits in the banner, then click again on "Circuits, in the filter select "Great itineraries and ask Randonnées du club des Cent Cols" in "Select".

By zooming in on the map, each starting point is shown individually. By clicking on the starting point, the route of the hike appears, along with some miscellaneous information. "More info" provides a fuller description of the route.

3 - To find the Club des Cent Cols in the "list" of "Clubs", the easiest way is to type the name of the club (club des cent cols) in the "search" box and then open the club's "website":

(the "more info" link opens a geolocation page for the Annecy club)

4 - A new feature is available on veloenfrance for licensees FFCT : chart its own course.

To do this, open "Routes" and click on "Create a route". Depending on your choice (bike, road bike, mountain bike), clicking on the map at successive points will automatically create your route, specifying distance and gradient.

A number of additional options are available, including the option of viewing the position of the passes on your route by "Challenge".

All that remains is to export the gpx trace of your route to the folder of your choice or your GPS so that you can use it in the field yourself.
