Auvergne regional meeting at Col de la Croix de Peccata on 4 June 2016

Col de la Croix de Peccata, 1570 m (Haute Loire)

This road pass on the D274, at the crossroads of the GR7 and the Tour Mézenc-Gerbier, provides S2 access to the Mézenc, a mountain with two peaks, rising to 1753m in the Ardèche and 1724m in the Haute-Loire.
Alongside the Atlantic-Mediterranean LPE, it is on the CC route in the Ardèche.
There are seven passes within a half-day's ride south of Fay sur Lignon.
A link between the Croix de Peccata and Croix de Boutières trails is possible.
From the Mezenc, there is a panoramic view over 10 to 12 départements and a view of the "sun mountains" (the Alps for the locals).
The 3 lake GMPs are close by: Lac de St-Front (20km), Lac d'Issarlès and 2-3 cols (25km), Lac du Bouchet and Trescols (50km).

- via the west of the Mézenc: R1: 6093234 4 passes, 57km/1150m or R2 6082311 6 passes 73km/1600 departure from Le Monastier sur Gazeille (lycée car park)

Mountain biking: respirando trails  : http://www.respirando.fr/index.php/a-velo-vtt/circuits-vtt/vtt-velay.html On the 6th: a breath of fresh air and red blood cells 28km/800 D+ or on the 5th: a ghost train (route of a railway line never installed, viaduct and tunnel crossing (75m)) and wide open spaces 51km/1300. Rolling route except for a few short sections R1 or S-2 allow +6km/200 for 2 passes and the concentration point.

As in 2012 and 2014 possibility of a meal together on the evening of 4 June, at Francine and Claude's, with Jean Dufau (CC 6997 as head chef). Please let us know if you wish to take part in this meal. Comfortable accommodation in hotels or gites as well as a few more rustic places in the host's home (as far as possible).
