Drôme Ardèche Vaucluse, Geail pass, Saturday 27 August 2022
The Drôme Ardèche Vaucluse meeting will take place in the South Drôme at the Col du Geail (FR-26-0920) on 27 August 2022. Small car park and picnic tables for sharing sausages and cheeses.
The road circuit is a classic in this area, with participants passing through Saint-Nazaire le Désert, La Motte-Chalancon and the wild valley of the Arnayon torrent on the way up to the Pré Guittard pass. 7 passes for 55 km. Optional passes are available, notably R1, for the bravest.
Most of the mountain bike route is on tracks or paths. 10 passes for 30 km. It is possible to add 2 passes without too much effort (Col du Gorat for example). During the reconnaissance we were unable to go to the Col de L'Epervier because the person who lives in the house off the road forced us to make a U-turn. The route will be recognised in 2021.
Mountain bikers set off from the Col de Geail at 9am. Road cyclists can park at the Col de Lescou and finish downhill after the meeting.
