Challenge " les cent cols routiers 2000 " 100 road passes in continental western Europe
Corinne DAMERON (CC N°5187) is proposing this challenge:
Climb a selection of one hundred road passes on the Western European continent at 2000 metres or more, selected in September 2023.
Passes selected by country concerned: Andorra (4) Austria (7) mainland Spain (6) France (27) Italy (43 including 10 border passes or passes duplicating those of other countries or tunnels) Romania (2) and Switzerland (21). It should be noted that border passes are chosen by the country and count only once.
This challenge is open to members and non-members of the Hundred Passes Club. It can also be the basis for the first hundred passes for a new member, or simply an incentive to do some sightseeing in Europe's mountainous regions. Mountain bikers, sharpen up your calves!
To find out more about the passes in this challenge, our friend Gérard GALLAND CCC 933 has written a very well-documented article (with some photos in 3 associated slideshows) which you can find by clicking on this link:

How it works
To sign up for this challenge, you need to complete the registration form acceptance of the rules of the club des cent cols. Please rename the file with your name.
- The passes must be climbed in accordance with the rules of the Cent Cols Club.
- Passes climbed before registering for the challenge can be counted.
- The100 passes in the Challenge are those listed in the Catalogue on the date the Challenge was created. If passes are subsequently added in the area covered by the various additions, they will not be taken into account for the Challenge.
- The golden challenge "The cent Road passes 2000 " is obtained after completing all the passes on the list drawn up in September 2023.
- The silver challenge is awarded after completing 75% of the list of cols.
- The bronze challenge is awarded after completing 50% of the list of passes.
- There are 8 border passes shared by two countries, and you only need to climb them from one side to count them. They can only be counted once.
- There's no time limit, so if you're a mountain lover, treat yourself.
- Participants are self-sufficient, but it is strongly recommended that they wear a helmet and follow cycling safety rules.
- As each country has its own traffic regulations, it is compulsory to comply with them.
- A gold, silver or bronze certificate is awarded once the required number of passes have been climbed. Participants have the option of printing out the details of the Challenge themselves, or having them sent to them by the person in charge of the Challenge for the sum of six euros payable to the Club des Cent Cols. (€6 This sum includes the cost of special paper, printing and postage). The Challenge d'or diploma can also be handed over personally at Club des Cent Cols events, on request.
- A Roll of Honour of the holders of each Challenge and the registered participants (with their degree of progression) will be drawn up. Initially, this list will be available from the person responsible for the challenge, and the conditions for its inclusion in the publications of the 100 Cols Club will be decided at a later date.
- A number will be assigned in the order of registration.
- The annual declaration is made by sending the completed excel file to the person in charge of the Challenge: centcols2000R@centcols.org who analyses the results and draws up the Roll of Honour.
