Tourist information

A superb mountain bike loop in France's largest alpine pasture facing the glaciers of the Meije, among crystal-clear lakes, herds and high altitude flora.

The Emparis plateau lies at an altitude of over 2,000 m in the French departments of Isère and Hautes-Alpes. It is part of the Arves massif and faces the Écrins massif, in particular La Meije and Le Rateau. It is located in the communes of Besse, Mizoën and La Grave.

The Emparis plateau, with its rich flora and fauna, is one of France's Natura 2000 sites.

The route passes through the beautiful village of Besse en Oisans, with its dry-stone houses.

 - Approximately 10 km on the path to and from the Col du Souchet and the Brêche, a cycle path estimated at around 30 %,
