Manuale ccWay: uscita formati

Specify here the type of geolocation file you wish to generate, then submit the extraction request by clicking on the «Generate / Download» button:

The GPX format is used by a large number of programs. When you use ccWay in Member mode, you can set up the display of the steps in the programs that use the GPX file, and view their characteristics on your GPS; it is a good idea to provide the GPX file to the specialised program that interfaces with your GPS, such as MapSource for Garmin GPS. It should be noted that MapSource can handle up to 64 different custom symbols, but we have limited them to 24 because this is the limit corresponding to the maximum of 24 symbols that can be used by most Garmin GPS devices. The colours correspond to the 8 categories: Road, Cycle, Easy Push, Difficult Push, Carry, Acrobatic, Unrated Road and Unrated.

Defining ccWay categories on MapSource

GPX files generated by ccWay with the GPXX extension use the MapSource category system. There are 8 categories corresponding to the colours defined below: a «Done» category, a «To Do» category, a «< 2000 m» category and a «≥ 2000 m» category. You must define these categories in MapSource before using a ccWay file. You’ll find this in the menu: Edit :: Preferences :: Waypoint Categories. Unfortunately, you’ll need to type or paste them in one by one. The order in which you enter them is irrelevant – you can start entering them in box 5 or box 1, and the order doesn’t matter. The distinction between passes < 2000 m and those ≥ 2000 m is made using two different types of symbols. The same symbols and colour schemes as in the GPX/GPXX files (previous section) have been used. See below:

Prima del debutto di ccWay, i file zip dei cataloghi contenevano un file KML che apriva l'intero catalogo su Google Earth. Con ccWay, questi file non sono più forniti al fine di eliminare le

• Quando un estratto KML contiene più di 500 passi le cartelle Google Earth non si aprono automaticamente per accelerare il caricamento del file su Google Earth. Text and background colours on Carto Exploreur

In Carto Exploreur, there are three options available on the settings page: the format of the route segment codes, the symbols to be used on the GPS if Carto Exploreur is used to transfer waypoints to the device, and the text and background colours for the route segment labels displayed by the programme (details).

Create a workspace

1. Create a new workspace. This step is not strictly necessary, but when importing a very large file, it is much quicker to delete the workspace than to do so folder by folder, as the latter tends to cause Carto Exploreur to «crash». So create the workspace and open it.
