OpenRunner and the Club des Cent Cols
OpenRunner was founded in Annecy in 2006. Operating in the IT sector, it has designed a route management platform that enables multi-activity routes to be mapped out on suitable backgrounds, then followed on the mobile phone via the mobile application it has developed, or on a GPS.
OpenRunner and the Club des Cent Cols have always enjoyed a good relationship based on their respective areas of expertise: IT and cartography for OpenRunner, mountain biking and exhaustive geo-positioning of mountain passes around the world for the Club des Cent Cols.
In 2015, the 2 entities decided to formalise their collaboration and signed an initial partnership agreement.
4 years later, this partnership has been renewed and deepened in a new agreement. In a nutshell,
- the Club des Cent Cols provides OpenRunner with its database of mountain passes around the world, which it updates regularly
- OpenRunner, for its part,
- promotes the club's mountain biking activities on its website.
- Organises for its customers the tracking of mountain passes crossed by bike, enabling them to join the Club des Cent Cols when the threshold of 100 passes is reached (including 5 passes at an altitude >= 2,000 m). In this way, OpenRunner has become the most effective way of becoming a member of the Club des Cent Cols.
The OpenRunner partnership and features are explained in detail in the following document:
