The partnership between the Spanish Cycling Federation and the Cent Cols club

The Club des Cent Cols has many French, Swiss and Belgian members in its ranks, which is explained by the club's origins and its very French-speaking operation until very recently. But that hasn't stopped other cyclists from non-French-speaking countries joining us over the years. Today, the club has members of 15 different nationalities. In fact, the President of the Club des Cent cols, who will be elected in 2021, is Italian himself, one of a group of 85 compatriots.

Spain is the country with the most mountain passes in the world (18,000). So why have we never exceeded the number of 2 Spanish members in the same year?

Taking advantage of the summer holiday organised each year by the Club des Cent cols, which in 2022 was organised in the Basque Country, a meeting was held at the Lizarrietta border pass (FR-64-0441 or ES-NA-0442a) between Mer José-Luis Junquera, president of the FECT and Bernard Giraudeau, head of communications at the CCC.

This initial meeting led to the signing of an "International Employee Club" agreement with the FECT from the end of 2022.

The shared intention of this agreement is for the 2 parties to become better known to each other.

For Spanish members of the FECT, enjoy collecting mountain passes, find out about the activities of the Hundred Passes Club, the "catalogue of Spanish passes", and more generally the world catalogue of passes, and the club's two permanent routes in Spain, the Ultreia, from Barcelona to Santiago de Compostela, and the Divisoria, along the Atlantic-Mediterranean watershed from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port (France) to Gibraltar.

To this end, the Club des Cent Cols provides the FECT with everything it needs to share its passion for mountain biking.

For the members of the Club des Cent Cols, who have already been touring Spain for a long time because of its wealth of passes, the idea is to publicise the specific cycling features of the FECT, such as the " Radiales Ibericas "
