Exceptional General Meeting for the 40th anniversary of the Confrérie in Annecy on 1 and 2 December 2012

Presentation

2012 is an exceptional year for Annecy. This beautiful city's commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of nature has been rewarded with the title of European Alpine Town of the Year 2012, and it is also exceptional that you have come to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our Confrérie with us. Cities, like the people who created them, change as they grow older. They change with their history, with fashion and with the progress of civilisation.

The Annecy of yesteryear is rich enough in poetry, picturesqueness and human events to serve the Annecy of today. Like a diamond in the setting of its mountains, with the purity of its lake waters rediscovered, isn't Annecy today a symbol of eternity?

Our General Meeting will be held at the Impérial Conference Centre on the banks of the lake in Annecy. A remarkable place that was renovated a few years ago, the Impérial Palace, a former luxury hotel built in 1913, has attracted many royalty such as Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Edith Piaf and King George VI.

Today the Impérial offers three options: hotel, casino and conference centre. Our AGM will take place from 3pm on Saturday 1 July.er December in the Salle de l'Europe.
This will be followed by an aperitif in the hotel lounges, hosted by Annecy City Council in the presence of the Mayor.
Throughout your stay, you'll be looked after and pampered by members of the Vélo-Club d'Annecy. This cycling club, one of the oldest in France, was founded in 1888.

Today, the V.C. Annecy remains one of the most active cycle touring clubs in France, not only in terms of the number of members but also in terms of the many activities and events it organises (such as the Aravis B.C.M.F. scheduled for 16 and 17 June).

Accommodation and registration

Accommodation is provided in the "Les Balcons du Lac" holiday residence, located 8 km from Annecy on the Col de Leschaux road.
The holiday village overlooks Lake Annecy and its mountain setting.

We have reserved rooms with 2 beds and a separate bathroom. Beds are made on arrival and towels are provided. Single occupancy is possible subject to availability (extra charge).
A festive meal is on offer: we have reserved 200 places and you can register now using the registration form below.

As this is a very special General Meeting, we have difficulty in estimating the potential number of participants. This is why we are asking you to register as soon as possible (cheques will not be debited before the AGM) and by 30 September 2012 at the latest, to enable us to adjust the services and make it considerably easier for us to organise this event. We would also ask those of you who intend to attend only the AGM, without taking part in any services, to let us know so that we can also plan the welcome drink and the layout of the room accordingly.
