FAQ - The site
How do I access members-only pages?
Click on "Member login" in the green banner at the top of the pages. If you don't have a password or can't remember one, read the article Obtain a password to access the members section.
My account is blocked. Why is this?
Have you paid your contributions? For more information, see the page concerning annual contributions. Or have you tried several times to log in with a false password? Then wait 24 hours and request a new password (if necessary), or contact assistance@centcols.org if it's really urgent. And make sure you're using your own membership number!
In what format should I send my photos to document the passes?
I clicked on the " generate and download the output file "It's the first time you've done this in ccWay, but nothing happens.
If you have not changed your browser settings, the file will automatically be saved in your computer's downloads folder. Open this folder and you should find one or more files (if you've pressed the button several times) whose name starts with ccWay_n°member_date...
ccWay doesn't give me any passes in a polygon I've drawn on the map, even though I'm sure there are passes in that area. Why does this happen?
Two omissions can lead to this result. The first is that you have only selected one type of pass (e.g. road passes) and all the passes in the region are of another type (e.g. off-road passes). Another thing we sometimes forget is that if we select a country and then move the map to another country, we won't find any passes from the first country in the second. For example, if you initially choose France but draw a polygon in Switzerland, you won't find any French passes in Switzerland. This behaviour may seem too restrictive, but it's so that the other menus are always adapted to the country, for example while you're in France you can choose regions and departments, but when you select Switzerland it's the cantons that you can then choose.
I can't open the cols file from ccWay. What should I do?
The tool ccWay allows you to download lists in KML or GPX format (or CE3 for France). These files can only be used if you have software on your own computer capable of reading them. Which software to choose is an individual choice. How you install it is up to you. For more details, see ccWay guide.
I can't see my new passes in Google Earth when I retrieve them from ccWay. Why can't I?
When you open a file from ccWay in Google Earth, this programme also opens everything that is saved in its "favourite places". So if you have an old version of a pass file in your favourite places, these will still be displayed. This can give the impression that the new file is out of date, when in fact it is an old file that is still present in Google Earth. This is the first thing to check.
If this is not the solution, then it is advisable to check which passes are actually registered in the personal list. And if necessary to complete this list with collar registration.
I've downloaded a pass catalogue in Excel format. When I click on a link in this file, nothing happens. Why does this happen?
This can happen depending on the versions and settings on your computer. There is no solution that applies in all cases. That's why we've put together a short guide to Office links.
I changed my e-mail address on my membership form, so why am I still receiving mailing list messages at my old address?
The address for the cent_cols mailing list (Yahoo list) is not directly linked to the address registered with the club. It is quite possible that the two addresses are different. To change the address on the mailing list, the easiest way is to unsubscribe with the old address and then subscribe with the new one. The method is explained on this page concerning the discussion list. If this causes problems, the address of the mailing list managers is also given on this page.
