Tourist information

From Génolhac, on the edge of the Gard department, you’ll walk through the Mas de l’Ayre state forest, which borders the heart of the Cévennes National Park. You’ll pass through the Ardèche and Lozère departments. If you have time, extend your walk to the lake beyond Villefort (5 km return) in Lozère.

Technical specifications

The route is 100 % by road and cycle, on quiet roads. The Col du Péras has a gradient of over 8 % over 2 km. The Collet has a gradient of 7 % over 1 km. The Col de l’Ancise has a gradient of just under 10 % over 500 m and the road is in poor condition.
At the start in Génolhac: water tap in the car park near the café. Water point near the church in the hamlet of Aujac. Please note: after the start, shops only in Bessèges and Villefort (1 km off the route).
