Then on to Heyd, where the serious stuff begins, Érezée, Manhay, etc. war 40 museumLamorménil terminus of the Aisne tramway, and La Roche-en-Ardenne with its castle overlooking the town before returning to Barvaux.
Technical specifications
On this route you will pass through a number of small villages, mainly on narrow roads. There are very few flat stretches. The flat country is not what it seems.
For BIG climbers, a return trip to Aisne from Heyd takes you to the actual northern foot of the Rideux Col/BIG. There is also a loop at La Roche-en-Ardenne to take in the most difficult south-westerly slope of the Col/BIG de l'Haussire, which in points is the most difficult climb in Belgium.
For pass climbers, the route passes over these passes anyway. The initial descent to Aisne and the ascent from Roche-en-Ardenne are not essential and save you around 10 km and 300 m D+.
