Ven up to the challenge
From the Limagne fault to the legendary Sancy passes, come and discover the richness, history and diversity of the land of lakes and volcanoes.
For the Cyclomontagnarde des Volcans, there are three options for cycling in the heart of an unspoilt natural setting that has been graced on many occasions by the riders of the Tour de France. Between climbs, you'll pass through medieval towns and spas where you can enjoy the shade of the beautiful stonework of Romanesque churches and listed castles.
In 2026, the most daring cyclists will be able to revive a forgotten cycling heritage. More than sixty years ago, the Randonnée des Puys proposed a 300km route starting from Clermont-Ferrand, with the ascent of the Pas de Peyrol as the high point. In 2026, the most famous peak in the Cantal will be back on the programme... but before that, you'll have to cross the Monts Dore and resist the Central Cézallier steppe on the way back. A major adventure in the heart of the Auvergne!
If you sign up for one of the two routes on Sunday, you'll have the chance to climb to the summit of the Puy de Dôme on Saturday. A great warm-up on the slopes of a myth.
Saddle up - the volcanoes are waiting for you!
