Departure Lamalou-les-Bains, in the town centre from the Halles car park at Place Fernand Gouges. There are plenty of car parks in the town.

Tourist information

The route starts in the spa town of Lamalou-les-Bains, then halfway along makes a foray into Aveyron and Tarn. The return route in the Hérault passes by the source of the Agoût and the summit of the Espinouse massif, then skirts the Caroux massif and its forest of fighting writers. This forest honours several hundred writers who died in the two world wars: a walk through this massif is dotted with commemorative steles. At the entrance to Lamalou-les Bains, you pass under an old viaduct that has become a green cycle route linking Bédarieux to Mazamet over a distance of 80 km (the Passa Païs).

Technical specifications

The route is almost 100%. Only the Col de la Plane is accessible by a 200m-long R1 track.
Lamalou-les-Bains: spa town with casino, shops, etc.
Various water points in Saint-Gervais-sur-Mare, including one in front of the gendarmerie on the route.
