Departure At the Villes-sur-Auzon sports complex, south of the village. Car parks next to the stadium and tennis courts.

Tourist information

A tourist trail linking the hilltop Provencal villages of Venasque, Murs and Sault, which I recommend visiting. Stop at the Saint-Hubert lookout at km 60 for the view of the Nesque gorges and Mont Ventoux in the background. Facing the Cire rock, the Castellaras lookout dominates the gorges 4 km after Monieux. In the distance, you can see the south face of the Ventoux and its summit, which is usually covered in snow until mid-April: it keeps a watchful eye on cyclists.

Technical specifications

The route is entirely road-based. Two small tunnels (100 m and 50 m) and arches cut into the rock in the Nesque gorges.
Shops, toilets and water points in Sault and Villes-sur-Auzon.
