Jean-Louis Portaz was number 1209, and joined the club in 1980. At the time, he was with the Cyclos de la Vallée de Thönes. In recent decades, in addition to his job as an art teacher, he had embarked on new adventures, as mayor of his home town of La Chapelle, in the Maurienne region, from 2001 to 2020, and general councillor for the canton of La Chambre, from 2011 to 2015.
