A new story from the club’s archives is now online: my first Paris–Brest–ParisGo to info

Jean-Marie Gilles CC 7112

Admitted to the cols Hundred Club in 2013, Jean-Marie was one of the more low-key col cyclists. A member of the Cyclotouristes Portois, he completed new cols routes at a rate of around a hundred a year and had made it a point of honour to accumulate more than 50 cols routes at 2,000 metres in order to qualify for the 1,000 cols certificate. When we presented him with this certificate at the general meeting in Sainte-Maxime in November 2021, his eyes sparkled with joy and he was deeply moved.

A naturally kind and caring man, Jean-Marie was also very loyal to the club and never missed the Drôme-Ardèche-Vaucluse regional meet, despite the illness that had been wearing him down for several years.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Florence and to his entire family.
