The loops of the Ardèche
Presentation
A 1,421km route covering the Ardèche and Gard départements, with 6 loops, 120 passes, 4 optional passes and around 2,790 metres of ascent.
The 100 Cols en Ardèche route was mapped out by Jean-Marc Clément of the Confrérie des Cent Cols on the basis of the existing 100 Cols en Ardèche route.
Course
Theme
The Club des Cent Cols, founded in 1972, is affiliated to the French Cycling Federation under No. 6384, offers you this permanent walk based on a simple theme: "One hundred passes".
One hundred passes, either to enable you to join the Confrérie des Cent Cols, or to enable you to progress up the Confrérie's "roll of honour", or in any case to help you discover or rediscover the Ardèche department, so rich in natural and historic sites.
Controls
Twelve controls are compulsory; they will be carried out at points along the route chosen by the rider, with one control being carried out in each loop (loop numbers are to be found on the route map).
The loops (with proposed stages) are as follows and start from :
- Tournon - Vanosc: 93.5 km, Vanosc - Lamastre: 99.5 km, Lamastre - Tournon: 80.5 km (cumulative D+: 5255 m)
- Lamastre - Dunières: 115.5 km, Dunière - Lamastre: 95.5 km (cumulative D+: 4550 m)
- Lamastre - Le Béage: 126 km, Le Béage - Lamastre: 123.5 km (cumulative D+: 5535 m)
- Privas - Largentière: 95 km, Largentière - St Germain: 75 km, St Germain - Privas: 132 km (cumulative D+: 5885 m)
- Vals les bains - Lanarce: 98 km, Lanarce - Vals les Bains, : 105 km (cumulative D+: 4015 m)
- Largentière - Les Vans: 80 km, Les Vans - Largentière: 102 km (cumulative D+: 3050 m)
