Every year, the Pierre Roques Prize, awarded by the French Cycling Federation, rewards the author of a story accompanied by photos recounting an independent cycling trip. Entries are submitted anonymously under a pseudonym to ensure the impartiality of the jury. Several members of the Club des Cent Cols are winners of the literary photography prize, formerly known as the Charles Antonin Prize.

This year, the award-winning story recounts the crossing of the Pyrenees via the Haute Route Pyrénéenne route mapped out by Georges Véron and Pierre Roques.

It was awarded to our friend Marc Jeanne, member no. 2541 of the Club des Cent Cols, for his story «Dans la roue de Pierre» (In Pierre's Wheel). It was presented to him at the General Assembly of the French Federation of Cycle Tourism, which took place in Albi on the weekend of 13 and 14 December 2025.

This is another impressive achievement for Marc, but also a wonderful journey accomplished with Brigitte (cc7387) along the Pyrenees ridge.

Marc and Brigitte's travelogue may also inspire you to take part in the Pyrenees Challenge Georges Veron proposed by the Club des Cent Cols.
