Maurice Métral

It is with great sadness that I have just learned of the death of our friend Maurice Métral ccc 3210. Momo was a very pleasant riding companion on Cent Cols trips. In recent years, he has had two accidents that have slowed down his riding. At the fiftieth anniversary AGM, he told me how happy he was to have been able to do some great cycling again. He had new projects in the pipeline.

Roger Colombo has just posted a photo taken during the Argelès-sur-Mer trip.

In addition to his enthusiastic and always very positive attitude during CCC activities (regional meetings, trips, AGMs), he was also very involved in the diabetes walk. https://cyclodiabete.com/. We're going to miss Momo!

A final tribute will be paid at 3pm on Wednesday 1 February at the Iles crematorium in Annecy, followed by cremation.

Régis Paraz, former president of the Club des Cent Cols

The death of Maurice Métral is very sad news. It's true that we've seen less of him on our trips in recent years, and I was pleased to see him again at the fiftieth anniversary AGM, where we shared a few memories.

Maurice was one of the members of the Cent Cols who showed discreet but strong support when I was in charge of chairing the Club. For example, he would bring a cheese or a few bottles of wine for the organisers of a meeting - simple gestures and words that warmed our hearts.

My condolences to his family and my sympathy to his friends in Annecy.

Claude Bénistrand - Honorary Chairman of the Club des Cent Cols
