Hats off to you!
It was with great pleasure that I read the article about Lionel Delahaie. I know him well – he’s from Angers, like me – having often ridden alongside him in the BRMs and at the RCA 24-hour race; I particularly remember the Angers BRM 400 (412 km) in 2011, where I managed to ride alongside him with three other cyclists, finishing in 14 hours 08 minutes (average: 29.18, including stops) and 13 hours 21 minutes in the saddle (average: 30.85).
Lionel is a brilliant sportsman – friendly, humble and full of humour. I’m always delighted to see him again, as well as Jean-Claude Chabirand, who holds the record for the number of successful PBP completions (13). It just goes to show that the gentle nature of the Anjou region produces some excellent cyclists.
Well done, Lionel, and I take my hat off to you. 😉💪👍👏🎩
