COVID 19 constraints
Constraints may change between now and the start of your stay. There are currently no restrictions on double occupancy.
The prices negotiated by the Club with accommodation providers are based on double rooms, with some single rooms subject to a supplement.
If the health situation were to call this plan into question at a date unknown to date and require, in particular, single rooms for non-couples, the rooms could be allocated as follows:
- Couples and Single Enrolment Forms for two people expressly requesting to be in the same room will be allocated as a priority to a double room, as originally planned.
- Participants who have booked single rooms from the outset will be given priority for single rooms, as originally planned.
- Other participants who are assigned to double rooms for individual use in order to comply with health requirements may be charged a supplement of around €100 for the duration of their stay (the same amount as for participants originally booked in single rooms).
If possible, some will be directed to a third hotel in a single room, depending on the financial and organisational arrangements decided by the Board of Directors at the time.
In the latter case, the participant would have two options:
- To accept the changes in prices and organisational arrangements linked to the health constraints imposed on accommodation providers, and to pay the extra €100 when required.
- Cancel the booking and, where applicable, take out cancellation insurance if this has been taken out. A cancellation fee of €37.64 will be deducted from the amount paid to the Club des Cent Cols.

For the second time, the Club is organising a holiday in Italy on the Riviera di Levante, mainly in the Cinque Terre (in Ligurian: Cinque Taere) but also in the Portofino and Aveto National Parks.
We will be staying at Cavi di Lavagna, which is located between Genoa and La Spezia, and our circuits will be spread all around this base. They will frequently require a few dozen minutes' drive. We can take advantage of these tours to visit the parks and sites mentioned above, as well as the beautiful Apennine mountains, which often plunge straight into the sea.
Accompanying adults can also enjoy the same sites and parks.
We'll be staying in two hotels just over 800 metres apart. The Real Park is located right next to the beach and the Doria a few hundred metres from it.

Introduction to the region and its history
History

The Cinque Terre stretches for almost thirty kilometres west of La Spezia, capital of the province and naval base of the Italian fleet. This region is an Italian National Park which, along with Portovenere and the island of Palmaria, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Cinque Terre is part of Liguria, a region in northern Italy. Its coastline is mountainous and jagged, with rocky promontories falling directly into the sea. This mountain range forms the northern Apennines.
In the Middle Ages, the term Earth meant "village", hence the name Cinque Terre (Cinque Taere) for the five villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare, all on the coast. They are characterised by a cluster of tall, colourful old houses clinging to steep rocks at the foot of which nestle small fishing ports.
To the north, the Cinque Terre borders on Levanto and to the south on Portovenere. Riomaggiore is less than ten kilometres from La Spezia and Levanto is also around ten kilometres from Sestri Levante.
A report from the "Des Racines et des Ailes" programme offers a quick tour of this marvel.
The best way to visit Cinque Terre is along the footpaths. Originally, they were the only means of access and communication between the villages. The route between Portovenere and Levanto is 36 kilometres, passing through all five villages. These paths offer magnificent panoramic views, passing through vineyards and terraced olive groves or through areas of Mediterranean maquis: watch this short report.
The very active section of the Italian Alpine Club in La Spezia has marked 185 trails located on its site.
The Italian government built the railway line between Genoa and La Spezia in the 1870s. This line opened up the Cinque Terre to the outside world. The railway line runs along the coast, passing through numerous tunnels and serving all the villages. For tourists, this is the best way to discover all the villages between Sestri-Levante and La Spezia.
The railway line has been renovated and modified. Some disused sections have been converted into a cycle path between Bonassola and Framura, and it will eventually be possible to cycle as far as Deiva Marina.
Another way to visit the National Park is to take the boat from La Spezia to Monterosso al Mare, then return in stages (passing through each village), either along the footpaths or by rail in the opposite direction back to La Spezia. All the footpaths offer magnificent panoramic views.
Agriculture
Generations of farmers, no doubt of Etruscan origin, have worked the sometimes very steep mountains to cultivate the land in terraces where vines, fruit and olive trees have been planted for centuries. The terraces are made of fill supported by dry stone walls, and the estimated length of all these stone walls exceeds 5,000 km. The construction of all these terraces represents a considerable amount of work spread over more than a thousand years. This agriculture and fishing provided food for the people who were able to stay and live in these villages. More than a thousand years ago, they were mainly located on high ground to protect them from Saracen incursions, but the gradual securing of the seas brought some of them down to the coast.
The vineyards produce a famous sweet white wine, the Cinque Terreand also the Sciacchettra which the Romans called theelixir of the gods. Olive trees give a quality oil with an exceptional aroma. And the fishing industry produces some very famous anchovies. See this report.
A visit to a local oil mill will be offered. (Orseggi olive grove)
Two parks deserve your attention:

Portofino National Park
Covering an area of 1,500 hectares, the Portofino Park and its 80 kilometres of signposted trails are a real paradise for hiking enthusiasts. It offers a wide variety of routes, although they are more suited to trained hikers than to walkers looking for a gentle stroll.
If you're wearing hiking boots, you'll be able to walk the various trails in a relatively wild natural environment, with magnificent landscapes and numerous viewpoints: bays and cliffs as well as various rural areas, villages and seaside hamlets rich in art and history.
The signposts along the Park's various trails and the detailed trail map (available from Park information points and the main bookshops in neighbouring villages) also help less experienced walkers to find their way around and choose the route best suited to their needs.
Tracks or paths dedicated to mountain biking are identified by a specific logo.
ATTENTION
We have obtained permission to reach the Passo Porcile and Sella Toca passes by mountain bike, which are in a prohibited area. When following this route, be sure not to leave the marked path and follow the tracks precisely.

Aveto Park
Located in the Tigullio hinterland, Parco dell'Aveto protects one of the most beautiful and representative areas of the Ligurian Apennines. The protected area covers around 3,000 hectares and includes three valleys: Val d'Aveto, Val Graveglia and Valle Sturla. The three valleys have distinctive features: high mountain landscapes, pastures and extensive beech forests in Val d'Aveto; grazed meadows, chestnut groves, hazelnut woods, vegetable gardens and olive groves in Valle Sturla; a well-preserved rural landscape with olive groves and vineyards and, above all, a wide variety of rocks and minerals, and therefore quarries and mines, in Val Graveglia.
Tours
WARNING
An epidemic of swine flu is currently raging in certain areas of Liguria.
The local authorities have decided to ban mountain biking in order to prevent its spread. The disease is harmless to humans but fatal to pigs and wild boar.
The ban takes effect from 13/01/2022 to 13/07/2022.
We have checked whether the routes on the programme for the Primavera holiday at Cavi di Lavagna have been affected.
It turns out that only the V8 (Neirone) in the municipalities of Bargagli and Lumarzo.
This route can be advantageously replaced by the V12 Monte Aiona.
The same applies to the Bonus courses V13 (Campo Ligure) , V14 (Campomorone) and V19 (Parco Beguia).
These unscheduled routes (Free) will be discontinued but can be completed after 13 July 2022.
Participants arriving before or staying after the week of the holiday will be informed of this health constraint.
The map below shows the municipalities affected by this ban.
Road cycling is not banned in all these zones.
Every day, from Monday to Saturday, a road circuit and a mountain bike circuit will be on offer, some with variations. There are also a number of additional routes for those planning to stay a little longer.
In the booklet that will be given to you on your arrival (and for which you will find a link in the "Registration" section), you will find a description of all these circuits as well as all the instructions and safety rules concerning the practice of our passion. Please read them carefully.
Further on, you'll find details of the routes, the list of passes, links for downloading GPS tracks, and so on. And, of course, it's all in the booklet!
On the maps below, the number of passes in brackets corresponds to the maximum number of passes that can be climbed on all the routes on offer (e.g. 10 routes for the 6-day trip). The first number corresponds to the number of passes that can be climbed simply by doing the scheduled routes over the 6 days of the trip.

Hosting
Unlike Ceriale, where we were able to accommodate all the participants in a campsite, the topography of the area means that such facilities are not possible. The participants will therefore be split between two neighbouring hotels:
Hotel Doria at Cavi de Lavagna (Bourg), which will be the base for the stay (welcome drink, meal package for day students, presentation of courses, presentation of diplomas, shop, farewell drink, etc.) and Real Park Hotel 800 m from the first.
Note from the Board of Directors
If you arrange your accommodation elsewhere than at the holiday village, please register as a "simple participant" for 4 reasons:
- So that everyone contributes to the costs of preparing and organising the stay (other than accommodation)
- To be able to correctly size joint events (information sessions, welcome and farewell parties).
- To be able to split up into several groups on the routes to improve safety for everyone.
- To help organisers deal with any unforeseen events.

Parking question
In this seaside town, squeezed between the mountains and the beach, parking is difficult, even though car parks are free at this time of year. Each of the hotels has a private car park with a very limited number of spaces, not enough to accommodate all the participants. Although these car parks have a cost, the Board of Directors has decided to make the spaces available free of charge. There will be no advance booking except for people with reduced mobility. On site, participants will be expected to demonstrate their civic-mindedness and friendliness in accordance with the usual "first come, first served" principle.
Other members will be able to park their vehicles nearby in the restricted zones, which are free of charge at this time of year.
For those wishing to come by caravan or motorhome, there is the Lo Scoglio campsite nearby or the Tigullio campsite in Sestri Levante.
You could not be assigned due to lack of space
In previous years we had an agreement with a third hotel, Le Tirreno. This agreement has not yet been renewed. We should know by the end of the year whether this agreement will be renewed.
If we manage to reach a new agreement, you will have to contact the hotel to make a reservation and also register for the stay as a simple participant for the fixed price of €37.00.

Registrations
Creating a Participant Single Package.
The cost of a stay is not limited to simply booking rooms and meals. In addition to these services, which are billed by the establishment (or establishments) where we are staying, there are many other expenses. Very often, for example, the accommodation provider will also charge us for the room or rooms made available to us (for parking bikes, for the shop, a large room with sound equipment for presentations, drinks and speeches, etc.). In many cases, we are billed separately for the opening and/or closing drinks, based on the actual number of people attending. Other expenses include the production and printing of the brochure, the trombinoscope and the maps displayed, the costs incurred in preparing the trips (visits to establishments when necessary, preparation of circuits on maps, reconnaissance in the field, etc.), etc.
For a trip like this, this represents several dozen euros per participant. Until 2019, these costs were only covered by the members registered for the accommodation and included in the corresponding price. To ensure fairness, in 2018 the Board decided to spread these costs across all participants in the trips, and since the Chessy trip we have therefore set up a " Single Participant Package "All members taking part in the holiday (whether they choose full board, the 7-dinner package or self-catering) must now subscribe to this package, with the exception of associate members. Subscribing to this package will give them access to the holiday booklet (except for associate members), to drinks, to the accommodation provider's facilities and to other activities.
For legal reasons, these holidays are only available to members of the Club. up to date with contributions before sending your registration form.
Please note registration form The registration form below consists of three pages: the registration form itself (make sure you fill in all the sections that apply to you and sign at the bottom of the page), the registration conditions, the special conditions for the single participant package, the cancellation and repatriation cover and the COVID 19 constraints. If you are planning to be accompanied by your partner, make sure you register him/her as an associate member with your Territorial or National Delegate beforehand, and don't forget to enter his/her associate member number in the appropriate box.
If, and only if, a participant is not no FFCT licenceThe compulsory insurance must also be taken out.
You can pay the registration fee by cheque or by transfer to the Club's account. In view of the additional charges invoiced by the organisation that manages it, we do not take any responsibility for the costs incurred. no payment by PayPal.
Assigning members is made in the order of the dates on which the cheque is sent or the transfer is issued. For the former, the postmark will serve as proof, for the latter, please send us a copy of the transfer order. If the holiday is full, a waiting list will be set up, which will operate according to the same priority allocation rules as for direct registrations.
For all our holidays, we try to accommodate everyone's requests as much as possible, particularly as regards the person with whom they wish to share a room. For this trip, as we have rooms in two hotels of the same level of comfort and price about 500 m apart, unless you make a specific request, you will be assigned to one or the other. If you would like to be grouped with your small group of friends in the same hotel, then you should indicate this when you send in your registration (by e-mail or post), clearly specifying the list of members who wish to stay in the same hotel. We will do our best to accommodate you.
To sum up:
- If you want full-board accommodation, choose the €380 package and add the €37 "single participant package" = €417;
- If you only want the evening meals, choose the package at €115 and add the "single participant package" at €37 = €152;
- If you want to make your own arrangements for accommodation and catering, choose the single-participant package at €37;
- If you take out Gritchen insurance, the amount is 2.34 % of the amount of the benefits, with a minimum of 8 euros for a single person and 16 euros for a couple.
- If you are not a member of the FFCT, add the compulsory insurance at €7 per person;
- If you are an associate member, you are exempt from the single-participant fee;

- If you want to choose your roommate, mention him or her separately;
- If you would like a small group to stay in the same hotel, please mention this separately. We will do our best to accommodate you;

And of course, the trombinoscope, which isn't so new any more:
When we meet up at trips (and other events), we meet a lot of friends and acquaintances, but we're not sure we know everyone's name, and we don't always dare admit it or ask. To try to remedy this, as we announced at the Bédoin AGM, we are displaying, alongside the route maps, a simple trombinoscope of those present, with the photo, name and membership number of all those who have sent us (either beforehand, or with their registration for the trip) their photo and authorisation to publish it on the trombinoscope page of the Club's website.
You can send a digital photo of your face alone seen head-on and without a helmet in the form of JPG file of good definition and quality, with a width/height ratio of ¾, clearly mentioning your name and membership number, to photodemembre@centcols.orgor directly at sejours@centcols.org who will pass on the information.
Be sure to tick the yes or no box on the registration form, depending on whether you accept or decline. If no box is ticked, the answer will be deemed negative. If you have already sent a photo for the Club's trombinoscope or for a previous holiday, you do not need to send it again; you will be systematically included in the holiday's trombinoscope.
